Dr. Johnson received her doctorate from Emory University with a focus on clinical developmental science. Her research focuses on wellness outcomes and developmental transitions across the lifespan (from infancy to adulthood). Pathways to Wellth was born from her passion for disseminating accurate wellness information to all age groups to improve holistic wellbeing. She is currently an Assistant Professor within the Psychology department at Emory and holds several years of experience teaching undergraduate and masters level classes. She is particularly passionate about tutoring, advising and mentoring students to help them achieve opportunities in higher education and further their professional development.
Dr. Johnson is also a pre-licensed clinical psychologist. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Emory school of Medicine Child and Adolescent Mood Program, where she worked with children, adults, and families struggling with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, and serious mental illness. Dr. Johnson has been extensively trained in various evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT) and PCIT for Selective Mutism, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). She is currently completing her clinical post-doctoral fellowship with Peachtree Integrated Psychology under the supervision of Dr. Kristin J. Carothers, Ph.D. She utilizes an integrative and person-centered approach to best meet the needs of the individual and their family, while working collaboratively with families, schools, and other natural supports in the client’s life to promote lasting change.
